The Official Casting Call for “Track 17″

This is a casting call for Half Acre production “Track 17,” a dramatic short film to be shot completely in the Fresno, California area. These are unpaid roles, but food will be provided on set, and all those involved with receive DVDs for their reels.

We will be shooting in August, 2007, and are very flexible in accommodating schedules. If shooting goes beyond schedule, weekends will be needed to finish.

There are a total of five speaking roles - two female, three male. We are casting for two or three males.

Role #1: Indie Band Guitarist

• Age: 21-24
• Appearance: Relatively clean-cut, a la The Shins or Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Folds, etc.
• Character is an ex-boyfriend of the lead in a stand-off situation between them.

Role #2: Well-Dressed Professional

• Age: 23+
• Appearance: Suit-wearing businessman; young, fresh-faced, almost innocent.
• Character will need to be in background as a supposed extra for all scenes, speaking only in the final scene.

Role #3: Heroin-addicted Bass Player

• Age: 21-23
• Appearance: Would be clean cut, if not for unshaven appearance.
• Character must be of drinking age; scene will be set in bar.
• Note: This part has been cast, but we are still leaving open to offers.

Role #4: Indie Rock Star

• Age: 21-23
• Appearance: Dark-haired or redhead, pretty like the girl next door.
• Actor must be of drinking age; one scene will be set in bar.
• Actor must have a very open schedule in August, as this is the lead role.
• Note: This role has been tentatively cast, but we are still seeking anyone interested.

Role #5: Indie Star’s Friend

• Age: 21-23
• Appearance: Preferably blonde, but very beautiful; problem is she knows it.
• Character is the best friend of our lead, and in their social circle always known as “the pretty one.”
• Note: This role has been tentatively cast, but are still seeking out anyone interested.

Track 17 is going to be the first short film that I’ll be producing Summer/Fall 2007.

The premise:

When the marked boyfriend of a young indie rock star vanishes, the star realizes that she’s now the target and gets her affairs in order.
